Eduction & Clinical Training
I attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison where I received my B.S. double majoring in Psychology and Biology-Neuroscience. While at UW-Madison, I worked as a research assistant in Dr. Richard Davidson’s Laboratory for Affective Neuroscience & The Center for Investigating Healthy Minds. After graduating, I worked as a clinical research coordinator at the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind-Body Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital for several funded clinical trials examining mind-body practices.
I went on to complete a masters and doctorate degree in clinical psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. My dissertation, supervised by Dr. Jasper Smits, examined the mental health benefits of exercise. I completed my predoctoral internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Adult Psychiatry under the supervision of Dr. Sonia Matwin.
I have extensive clinical training and experience in the delivery of evidence-based treatments. I specialize in the delivery of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I have also received specialized training in the delivering Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based interventions. While I have received training treating a wide variety of clinical concerns, I specialize in the delivery of treatments for anxiety, depression, and related concerns including trauma, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and behavioral changes.

In this position, I oversee internal and external clinical training activities, train doctoral students in clinical intervention, assessment, and supervision, and support research aimed at improving mental health care delivery and clinician education.
In addition to my academic roles, I serve on the Board of Directors and the Clinical Steering Committee of the Exposure Therapy Consortium. Through this work, I contribute to national efforts to advance, disseminate, and support high-quality exposure-based treatments for anxiety and related disorders.
