Daniel Lamanna, PMHNP

My name is Daniel Lamanna (pronounced “llama-nah” and I use he/him pronouns). I’m a Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Tucson, Arizona. I provide diagnostic assessment and evaluation and prescribe psychiatric medication to treat mental health disorders. I work from an integrated biological, psychological, social framework and tailor my care to meet the unique needs of each patient.

Eduction & Clinical Experience

I attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison where I received my B.A. double majoring in Psychology and Sociology. After graduating, I worked as a Community Resident Counselor at The Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Institute (OCD-I) at McLean Hospital. I went on to pursue a career in nursing with a focus on psychiatric interventions for mental health. I obtained a masters in the science nursing (MSN) from the University of Texas at Austin in 2018. I am a registered nurse (RN), ANCC board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC), and I am licensed in the state of Arizona to prescribe medications for the treatment of mental health disorders.

I have been practicing as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner since 2018 in a wide variety settings ranging from acute care to residential and outpatient practices. I have extensive clinical training and experience in using evidenced based interventions for the treatment of bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, and addictions. I have experience treating psychiatric disorders in individuals with co-morbid chronic illness like hepatitis C, HIV, diabetes and other metabolic disorders, kidney and liver diseases, epilepsy, and hypertension. My broad experience has prepared me to treat a wide range of mental health disorders and other psychiatric concerns. While I am licensed to work across the lifespan, I focus primarily in the treatment of adults.

Prior to entering private practice, I worked in integrated health care settings that included regular coordination and consultation with medical and other mental health providers. I am trained to rule out medical causes of psychiatric symptoms and will order and interpret laboratory tests as indicated. In understanding the value of integrated care, I will collaborate with your healthcare team and facilitate referrals to a variety of other healthcare providers.

Self-referrals are welcome. An initial evaluation is the first step.
